ELG Workshop for Reception Teachers

Spring 2 arrives and the expectations shift. We are expected to be able to predict which children are on track to achieve the ELGs - and which may not be. And yet, there are always children who sit in that uncertain space. Children who might get there… but also might not. This workshop supports you to look closely at those children - to unpick what is happening beneath the surface, identify what support will make the biggest difference, and understand how your provision, targeted interventions, and partnership with parents can work together to move children forward confidently towards the ELGs. 9th March 2026 7.30pm Online

Key Outcomes

Have a clear picture of which children are on track towards the ELGs and which children may benefit from additional or targeted support.

Develop a deeper understanding of what is influencing children’s progress by looking closely at gaps, patterns, and next steps in learning.

Plan purposeful support that fits into your Reception provision including targeted interventions and thoughtful adjustments to practice.

Feel confident planning next steps and communicating them with parents so everyone is working together to support progress towards the ELGs.
