What this workshop is really about

This isn’t about “positive vibes only” or pretending teaching isn’t hard. It’s about understanding why this job affects us the way it does — and learning practical, research-backed ways to protect your wellbeing while still showing up as the teacher you want to be. In this 60-minute session, we’ll gently explore how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours interact, and how small shifts can make a meaningful difference — not just for you, but for the children and adults you work with too.

During this 60-minute workshop, we’ll focus on:

Wellbeing and teaching: what the research tells us A clear, accessible look at why teaching impacts our wellbeing so deeply - and what genuinely helps.

Understanding thoughts, feelings and behaviours How they’re connected, why this matters in school life, and how small shifts can change how your day feels.

Restructuring thoughts for calmer days Exploring how realistic mindset adjustments can support your wellbeing and positively influence your classroom and relationships.

Practical tools you can use straight away Simple, evidence-based strategies for busy school days, finishing with a 15-minute guided relaxation to help you reset and unwind.

FAQ

Do I need my camera on?

For safety reasons, we do ask that everyone has their camera on during the session. Don’t worry - you’ll be in spotlight mode, so only the hosts will be able to see you.

Do I need any special equipment?

The final 15 minutes of this session will be a guided relaxation.  We suggest you find somewhere comfy to be with a pillow and a blanket.  Come as cosy as you like: pyjamas, dim lights… whatever helps you unwind and sink into the calm.

What if I can’t make it live?

Due to the nature of this session, we’re unable to record it. We’d love for you to pop the date in your diary and make this small commitment to your own wellbeing — you deserve it. To keep the session calm and undisturbed, we won’t be able to admit latecomers, so please aim to be in the waiting room at least 5 minutes before we begin. We can’t wait to create this moment of calm with you.

Your gentle nudge

Think of this session as a tiny act of kindness to your future self. The version of you who is calmer, more rested, and more ready to face the term ahead.
